    gpedit.msc - mmc cannot create the snap-in

Like the title says, it gives me that error. The other .msc's load fine in the MMC but gpedit will not.

I've searched for this and tried every solution I've found, but nothing works - they were all solutions geared towards XP and Vista: registering the dll's, changing the registry entry in the CLSID, running "sfc /scannow"... The only solution that I found which was for Win7 beta had a link that no longer existed.

I'm running RC build 7100, downloaded straight from microsoft.

One thing I should mention, I used vLite to remove a lot of unnessecary things before installing it. I configured everything just the way I had with Vista Ultimate so I'm not sure why only the Group Policy editor isn't working in Win7 (it still works in Vista).

Installation gave me no errors and everything seems to be running just fine, except the retarded delay of remembering recent programs I've run.... and not being able to boot up in safe mode WITH networking.

It's not imperative that I fix this, I'm just letting you all know of my problem to learn of different solutions to fix this.

    Thanks!

Not sure why my post was moved, this clearly falls under the Performance and Maintenance category, as this is a specific 'tuning and tweaking' issue that goes beyond 'general discussion' and should be moved back.
