Wifi has network but not connected.

Hi I’m new to these forums and am hoping for some enlightenment. My wifi at work will recognize the wireless network and says it’s connected. Yet there is no internet. So I use the Ethernet cable and internet works. My wifi connects immediately on my home wifi router with no issues. I had wireless working flawlessly last week, but all this week it won’t connect. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Do you guys want me to do that ipconfig in DOS and post the results here?

Welcome to SF, America.

Your card is recognizing the wireless router, but the router is not connected to the Internet (I'm guessing). Unplug the wireless router, wait a few minutes, then plug it back in and test.

By the way, you didn't say if other workers could connect to the wireless router and get Internet access.

Im sorry I did not say that yes indeed my coworker will log right into the same network, while sitting next to me. And unfortunately I do not have access to the wireless router.

Some thoughts. Is your adapter set for b and the work router is set only to g/n? Have you hard coded your ip, or does it obtain it automatically (which it should)? Did you check the ip config of co-workers vs. your ip config? type ipconfig /all

Can you direct me on how to find out my wifi card settings? Be it a b or g/n. Also I will have to wait until Monday when im back in the office to post the ipconfig/all results. Because im no longer in range of my work router.

Also I dont know if this helps or not, but all was working fine up to a week ago for months. And non of my coworkers are experiencing the same frustration.

Thanks again for any help!
