    Monitor will not stay off

I have two systems here running Se7en. One system is older with a PS2 mouse. I think that is why my monitor will not stay off. I have gone into advanced power settings and turned off sleep, and made sure all my settings look right. I have also gone to device manager and un-checked the "allow this device wake computer" box for the mouse. The monitor still comes on when you touch the mouse. What else could be making the monitor come on? How do I make the mouse so it's less sensitive or disable it so you have to hit the keyboard to turn on the monitor?

I did the same with the network adapter too.....no change...

For anyone having the same problem with the same adapter.....Whatever the ARP/Ping is has to be disabled. FYI

Well, having the monitor shut off, sleep and hibernation are different things. With the setting unchecked to allow the device to wake the computer, the system is still supposed to turn on your monitor(s) when it notices you moved the mouse. That setting is for waking the computer or not, which is a separate thing.

Without the use of third party software, I don't think there is a way to have only the keyboard and not the mouse turn on the monitor(s) once they are shut off automatically. It's either both or neither, I'm almost sure.

A quick mention: There's a cool screensaver called Dream Aquarium that behaves like you want where mouse movement will not turn off the screensaver. You must hit delete on the keyboard or click a button on the mouse to stop it.
