    Where's my 64-bit installer?

I am trying to load Logitech's Setpoint 6.15 (runs my Logitech cordless optical trackman) onto my computer (Windows 7 HP 64-bit), and every time I try, I get the following error message that reads something like: "You are running a 32-bit installer on a 64-bit operating system; please run the right installer." I do have both MS Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable x86 and x64 on board. What am I missing, if anything?

You will need to go find the x64 version of the SetPoint software, probably from Logitech's website.

I know this probably sounds silly, but you have downloaded the 64-bit version of the installer?

I had some very strong coffee this morning, and I'm wide awake, anticipating a win for my Phillies tonight.

If it makes any difference, here is a direct link to the 64-bit installer from Logitechs Website.

Thanks for the replies, finally got SP to install. Not quite sure why, though. I had uninstalled all the 2008 x64 and x86 Redistribuatbles, and then reinstalled them. The problematic SP install was from FileHippo, but I can't tell if it was the 32 or 64 bit version. However, after doing the uninstall/install of the Redistributables, and after your heads up about downloading/installing the 64-bit version of SP from logitech, that's what I did and it worked. Was Filehippo's version 32-bit? Probably was, eh?

It probably was. In the future, always get your driver software right from the source. This way you know it is correct, you know the version, you know it is the latest, and you also know the file hasn't been tampered with.

You should only rely on third party groups when you absolutely, positively can no longer get it from the manufacturer. Of course, Caveat Emptor, as it is also a good way to get yourself infected from a questionable site.
