There might be an infection. Download and run Malwarebytes from the desktop.

Download and install MS Security Essentials to replace your current AV and use only with the Windows 7 firewall. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

If these installations are blocked, download and burn to CD a bootable free AV on another computer then boot and run full scan: http://www.techmixer.com/free-bootab...download-list/

Set your Internet Explorer security settings back to default in Tools>Internet Options.

Next run a Clean Boot procedure: How to Troubleshoot a Problem by Performing a Clean Startup in Windows 7 or Vista

If this fails, boot the Windows 7 DVD Repair console or Repair CD, click through to Recovery Tools list to System Restore back to before the problem began. System Repair Disc - Create

If you cannot copy out your files from WIndows, then use this method with DVD/Repair CD: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console

Do you have a Factory Recovery partition and/or disks? Do you have a Windows 7 install DVD?

You'll need to boot the Repair CD I linked above if System Restore won't work from Windows, or you need to copy your files out because Windows won't let you. You should have one anyway in case Windows 7 won't boot: System Recovery Options

Do you have a factory Recovery partition? Do you have access to any Windows 7 installer?

There is a need to be thorough here. Ask back if you have any questions about performing a step. What about Malwarebytes? It is needed in addition to MSE.

You should have an Acer Recovery partition built-in which can restore your computer to factory condition.

In your Start>All Programs list there will be an Acer E-Recovery program that allows you to make Recovery Disks which also can recover to factory condition.

Then you will have two methods to do so: booting the computer to Run Recovery by tapping Alt f10, or booting the disks.

Both of these are destructive reinstalls so you'd need to copy out your data first. This should be a last resort if the other steps don't work.

Glad it helped.

System Restore is an important first-line defense but may be restricted in how far back it can go. If you have a large HD, allow more space for restore points to be saved by typing "sys" in Start Search box, select Create a System Restore Point, then under "Configure" apportion more disk space (20%+) to Sys Restore.

This will save more Restore points for longer.
