This morning Spybot threw up a registry entry warning: "WinSATRestorePower"
I can find nothing, searching this on either my system or using Google.
Does anyone know if WinSATRestorePower is a Windows 7 component?
Otherwise I'll treat it as a worm or virus.

search google with "Win SAT Restore Power" instead. It's got something do do with the performance index.
Agreed with the last post, this has to do with W7 Performance Index.
WinSAT stands for "Windows System Assessment Tool".
From the name of the file I think this is what re-enables the Aero theme after the testing is done.
Just a guess of course but it sounds logical to me because of this one line in the log file... :)

You could copy (use Take Ownership if necessary) that dll file or whatever it is over to a storage location, then use Spybot S&D to remove it. Then see if the performance index still works.
If not & it throws up errors you know it's directly related to it & you can restore that file to fix it. Then add it to the "Ignore" list in advanced settings.
Just an idea so you know for sure that its not a copycat file that's actually malware.

Spybot will let you know, as a fault, if you shut down some vital function in windows. When it does that to me, I go into "Settings > Ignore Products" and just put a check mark next to the item that I want Spybot S&d to ignore.
There are a lot of things that could be or should be done with Spybot that you just can't do if you don't set it up right in the first place.
My own setup routine for Spybot takes up a full page, in 10 point type.
It's important enough, that I even gave it space on my own web site.

In looking through my own "Ignore Products" list, I did not see "WinSATRestorePower". A Google only pointed back to this thread.
If set up properly, Spybot will make a restore point before deleting anything. let it delete the questionable entry and if that causes you any problems, do a system restore and put it back.

I just ran Spybot S&D again and that "WinSATRestorePower" did not show up, so I'd have to say it's definitely something that should be deleted.
