    help with booting up

I have had a couple of issues and now my pc wont even boot. To start with cmd.exe was running the processer pretty hard and it was popping up in microsoft security essentials and it removed it. it seemed to run fine after that for the next few boots and all was well. Today I tried to reinstall battlefield2. after installing it, it asked me to reboot and i did then i was getting an error message saying there was a problem with windows and I needed to restart using the disk and repair the installation. So i did that and when it booted into windows, after the lil icon screen it went to a blue grey screen with nothing. about all i could do is ctrl-alt-del and bring up the task manager. in applications there was 4 progs running and thats it. I then tried to to a recovery via the disk again using one before the installation of bf2. it did the recovery and when I booted to windows, again I got the blue grey screen with nothing. Is there something that I am missing or what am I to do as there are files that I want to save in there if I have to reinstall windows. has anyone got any ideas on whats gone wrong or what I should do.

Boot the DVD REpair console or Repair CD, click through to run Startup Repair repeatedly until it starts up. Then try System Restore, Memory Test.

YOu can copy out your files using this method: Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or use Paragon Rescue CD.

I'd wipe the HD before reinstall to overwrite infected code: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
