    Startup Problem..

    Hey guys,

Running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit and having some problems with startup programs. Google Chrome and Mozilla Thunderbird are still starting up every time I login as I can't seem to find where to disable them?

I've tried msconfig.exe, they don't appear in ccleaner and also can't find them int he registry

Any ideas to solve this would be appreciated.. cheers

    Nick

Hi MrLamby, welcome to the forums :)

This may sound like a silly question so please bear with me...

Have you tried looking under Start -> 'All Programs' -> 'Startup' ?

    task scheduler?

type task into start-menu search-box, and take it from there...

Nothing in task scheduler either.. only thing remotely related to Google Chrome is the Google Software Updater... but not Chrome or Thunderbird..

I think I can distinctly remember doing something in control panel months ago that had me typing in the programs exe location which then let it start up on startup.. but it was months ago and memory on it is a bit vague. But I still can't find it in the registry or anything..

Is there anything in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Start Menu\Programs\Startup ? just out of interest. For some reason it may not show when clicking through the start button

Have your tried Autoruns? You don't have to install it. You can run it live in your browser (link in right column.)
