    Hibernate problem

    Hello all,

recently my Windows 7 x64 installation won't go into hibernation anymore.
After I click the button, the screen turns black but then instantly shows the logon screen.

I already checked the network adapter, tried disabling selective USB, didn't find any power related BIOS setting and I even went through the tutorial found at the forum vistax64. I also did not install any additional software.

    Anyone knows what's going on?

    Thanks

Try going to device manager then properties on your network adapters and make sure that "Allow this device to wake the computer" is unchecked. If it's not, uncheck it then click apply and try hibernate again.

The only events that are related to activating hibernation by means of time occurrence are:

    SYSTEM LOG

    • Information 17/10/2010 14:46:23 Service Control Manager 7036 None (Application Experience-service stopped)
After one minute I touched the touchpad.

    No.

    It isn't related to hibernation.

    No.

    It isn't related to hibernation.

Try updating the BIOS and drivers (video, audio, NIC, anti-virus...) to their latest respective versions. It's very probable that your symptom is caused by a problematic driver.
