Are you running Disk Check from Windows or from Command Line of DVD/CD? Try both ways.

This makes running the maker's HD diagnostics even more important.

Find out the make of HD by looking at it, or typing what's listed in Device Manager>Disk Drives into Google to see what it is. Then burn the maker's diagnostics from the list to CD or DVD

Um Greg. My apologies. I don't have an extra CD to burn it. Therefore, I can't complete that sequence.

You have probs with hardware and OS.

Deal with the HD first. Get a blank CD to burn HD diagnostics to run the full scan. Then run Disk Check again from Windows or DVD/CD command line.

Do you have a Win7 install DVD? Have you tried reinstalling to wiped HD to overwrite possible infected code?

Test the HD first as it may be the prob. Did memory test out ok using memtest86 for 5-6 passes?

Yes I passed with 5 - 6 passes and I tried using the windows memory thing on the repair thing. & I have the windows 7 DVD. So could I boot the HD diag with thumb drive? Then continue with my windows 7 repair installation?

You can try writing the HD diag/repair ISO to flash stick using UltraISO trial version: on File tab Open ISO, on Bootable tab Write Disk Image, Click Format first, then Write button.

Boot flash stick by setting first to boot in BIOS setup, or using one-time Boot Menu key. May be listed under HD's.

I tried booting from the USB but I waited for around 30minutes - 1hour but to no avail, it would get stuck with these words "Start booting from USB device..." and it will not budge even by a little bit. Help would be appreciated, thanks.

& I can't repair install, as I tried it just now, it shows that Windows is rolling back to the previous OS. So, should I go for a clean install?

Lagging cursor issue
Hello, my cursor gets laggy randomly, for a couple second in every 5-10 minutes. It does when idle too, I am monitoring CPU usage and temperature, it is around 45C, never goes over 55C. My only thought is that maybe the thermal paste on the GPU may be getting dry, as it is around 70C idle,...
