If you have CCleaner that should tell you which Graphics card you have.

If not try using this Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit or some programs from here Free System Information Software Downloads - Freeware Files.com

Reading by the specs of that site, you should be able to run Aero.

I would go for what the manufacturer of the card states (intel) than what Microsoft says.

Btw no where on the Intel site does it says that the card can support Aero. The card does seem to have the specifications to support aero, but this doesn't mean it will, as its needs driver updates and other things as well.

Microsoft is not always right. Install Windows 7, if it runs aero then good, but Windows 7 is still fine without aero. Either way, it is the best OS out.

Maybe there was a driver update that enabled aero to work on the gfx card that Microsoft dosnt know about. I would go for what the manufacturer of the card tells me (intel) than what Microsoft says.

    Good point.
