    I have tried and tested all tests that i can think of and my system is running sweet as a nut, found no peoblems at all everything running as it should be apart from my wee annoying issue with the side by side windows. Argh!

    anyways would apprieciate any other thoughts on this all welcome

    I'm off to my pitt as need to be up at 5 for work but will check in tommorow.

    in saying that i just may throw a wee sicky as today was a hard stressfull day LOL

    could it maybe something to do with the nVidia control panel???? never could get to grips with that.

    when i use the taskbar function to set windows side by side all i get is 2 small windows snapped onto the left side of my screen as oposed full screen coverage.

    when i use snap by dragging it works no bother,

    So far no one has been able to answer my issue so i have reposted for a fresh look.

    see pic's;

    1st picture i used drag to snap 2nd picture i used the taskbar to set windows side by side;

    On my windows 7, when i have all my windows minimised i can not choose the show windows side by side option.

    Does this only happen when you have 1 window minimised and 1 window showing no matter what size??????? For some reason when i have 2 windows opened, 1 window minimised and one showing no matter what size and then click on show windows side by side it only shows and maximises the visible window.

    I got around it by keeping both windows visible and then choosing show windows side by side. At the end of the day it does not matter whether windows are minimised or not, that option should always do what it is meant to do.

    Hope this helped, if not at last i tried.
    If you have 4 windows open 1 minimised and 3 visible no matter what size, you will not get 4 side by side, only 3 windows side by side or F**K** up size whilst the other one shall shall remain minimised. As soon as you have 4 winodws visible and none minimised, then they shall be side by side easily.

    I have done this my self right before i posted this. TRY IT

    What happens if you boot to Safe Mode?

    I drag the one window by it's top to the left til cursor touches the left edge of screen and it snaps to the left half.

    Then I drag the other window I want to the right side the same way until it snaps into the right half of the screen.

    Works perfectly. No messing with taskbar.

    The thing I miss after beta is you can no longer drag tabs out of active windows to do the same thing with. And tabs don't separate using the taskbar multi-display options. So I have no need for those options.
