Hiding Documents and files in folders

I notice when I save my edited video to my video folder they will show along with all the video icon blank pages usully title after what i named the video along with 'Index File" 'AVI.Index File' or a 'SCN File'. Im sure they are important but they sure clutter up the folder. Is there a way to hide these kinds of files or documents?

If these are created by an editing program such as Vegas, SoundForge, or some other program, you can try setting them as "Hidden Files" but that may either muck up opening the files in the editor or alternatively, create a duplicate that isn't hidden, in which case you'd end up back at square one.
