MMC Has Detected An Error In A Snap In

I keep getting the following error when I click on "Properties" in Task Scheduler.

    How do I fix it?

Task Scheduler - MMC Snap In Error - File Not Found

MMC has detected an error in a snapin & will unload it.

The system cannot find the file specified.

MMC Has Detected An Error In A Snap In

I tried SFC /scannow from an Admin Command Prompt. It reported that it found errors and fixed all of them.

    The problem still persists.

    What can I try now?

    Thanx,

    Hello Randy,

You could try doing a system restore using a restore point dated before you got this error to see if may be able to fix it for you.

    Hope this helps,

    Randy,
    1) do me a favor and keep running sfc /scannow until it reports that no problems were found. I forget the actual wording.

    2) WIN | type TASKSCHD.MSC | ENTER
where WIN is the key with the wavy flag.

    Does that work?

Task Scheduler runs just fine until I select an item from the list & click on "Properties". That's when it gives me the error.

I tried System Restore. No luck.

P.S. I'm not having this problem on my Desktop PC. Only on my Notebook.

    Hello,

Make a backup of Registry Registry - Backup and Restore the Download this File and apply it SnapIn.reg and reboot your System and see if that works

Go to Control panel > User Account and Family Safety there Create a new User account and try under that account and see if you have the same problem, Fix a corrupted user profile

    Hope this helps,
