hotkey for screen saver + password

when i work on my computer i sometimes work on private stuff ,thing i don't want other to see.

however sometimes someone enter the room and want to talk to me ,i don't want him to see what is in the computer screen.

i need a way to setup a hotkey (i choose F9) so that when i press it the screen goes black + when i try to resume (by pressing a button on my keyboard) it should ask me for a password and does not allow the black screen to go off unless the password is correct.

in other words ,once i press F9 nobody should be able to see what i was doing unless he knows the password.

any idea how i can do that ?

i tried searching and i managed to bring a black screen on F9 by using a program called "winhotkey" , but still it does not ask for password on resume. and yes , the option "on resume display login screen" is enabled and the user account have a password.

p.s. the program "winhotkey" just makes a hotkey to any program you wish .i just hotkeyed the scr file to the F9 key.

any help will be appreciated. thank you

ye thats what i use just press windows button and L at the same time it locks your computer, no screensaver comes on but at least it locks it,

The screen saver will come on after the time you specified it to,

    E.g. 10 mins or so,

    Regards Paul

win + l is too slow

plus it needs two hands in my labtop (no right side win key) and my second hand can be busy quit a lot.

i will be using this hotkey tens of times per day :)

Or if you REALLY want to know how to map it... Ctrl-Esc-L, as Winkey is Ctrl-Esc.

Too slow? It only takes a fraction of a second. Truthfully if you're leaving your laptop then during your getting up process you can incorporate a joint 2 button press

Just set your laptop to lock on lid close. If you are really too lazy to use two hands to lock your computer when you're leaving for somewhere else then it obviously is not really that important to you.
