When installing Ubuntu, I'm pretty sure it installs GRUB boot manager by default.

yeah my kubuntu done that i installed it on a separate ssd drive and my windows 7 on a separate optical drive but grub controls boot up. in my thread Duel booting with linux and windows
i explain how to alter the grub boot loader menu to windows 7 being default on boot, also how to rectify the time clock if you suffer from the time keep changing when you boot in and out of windows 7 and linux operating systems using the terminal in the linux using the text editor too, remember to check what text editor your linux is using at default (in my kubuntu its called kate)
