This question can't be intelligently answered without knowing what recording program you are using.
But.... in the settings, or options, in that program there may be a tab or section that deals with file paths. Check that out and see if there is a temp directory.
If you know what extension the program uses for temp files you could search with Windows Explorer for that extension. In Nero the temp file is a wav file. You could also search for large files, about the size of a one hour recording. But most likely if the recording was not finished it was not saved at all and all the work was only static electricity that went poof.
Best practice: Never do Mission Critical work on battery power!
This includes installing programs, doing Windows Updates, transferring large files, and now, recording hour long files.
