Removing "Other user" from login page.

For some reason all of a sudden my machine is showing two users: myself and "Other user". I do not need to show "Other user" as I am the only person who uses the machine, and until this morning I was the only user shown.

How do I hide the "Other user" from the login page?

Trivial I know - but annoying...

    Regards.

I think it is more important to be sure that it is not a major problem.
Run your antivirus and download and run malwarebytes. Update and run full scan.
If it show nothing, we can either hide the profile or try to delete it.

    Works on 7, too.

    Should have been more descriptive:

I ran the antivirus and that was all fine. Still having the issue of two user accounts showing up in the login page.

Love to sort that one out!!

    Regards.

Sorry misunderstood. Glad that I did not close the thread. Did you follow the tutorial that I gave in my first post?

Yes I did. I followed method 1 and the "account is disabled" checkbox is disabled.

    Still no luck...

The registry change should have worked; did you try that one, too?

    That has not worked either.

When doing method 2 do I simply type "Other User" for the account name?

    Regards.

You have no other name to use.
This will be my last post for the night. You will be helped again tomorrow, unless another member jumps in.

Assuming that the other account is due to corruption, try this
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Have you tried deleting it in the normal fashion?
Does any one else have access t the compter?
Did you run an antivirus scan?
Did you download and run malwarebytes. UPdate and run full scan?
