Windows7 64bit
Every time windows restarts it pauses at the Boot Manager console and I have to "Choose an operating system to start". The first option is a normal startup and the second is Windows (Recovered).
I've never had any issues which would warrant a Recovery prompt but i'm presented with this option each time windows restarts. Is there any way to bypass this console and/or clear this "recovered" option?
It sounds to me like you may have a problem with your boot mgr. I do not get this. I would boot with a start up or recovery disk and get to the C: prompt and enter:
bootrec/ fixmbr
bootrec/ fixboot
remove the disk and reboot. You should be fine.

It appears a Startup Repair was run which recovered Win7. What happens when you choose Recovered listing from menu?
Type msconfig in Start Search box, on Boot tab is there a ghost listing like what you're seeing on boot menu? If so highlight and delete it.
If this doesn't suffice boot into System Recovery Options to run a few Startup Repairs to see if it resolves anything else. All repair commands are automated as well as tests to see which are required.
It's important once the ghost listing goes away to also check in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System\Advanced Options|System Protection that "Recovered" is not chosen there for System Restore or it will not be generating Restore Points required to recover your system. To resolve this highlight the actual C listing and choose Configure to Turn on System Protection. This should make the Recovered listing go away.
