"Help & Support" error

Hello. Will not start Help and Support. The message indicates that you can not start help and support, and proposes to use the site support microsoft.
  1. I tried the reg-file which resets the startup services.
  2. Tried "clean start"
  3. Checked. Xml files in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

Nothing helped.

Help please start the Help and Support.

If it worked in the early past, use system restore from two days before the problem.

I had not noticed before it happened. Rollback is not desirable .. because a lot of things installed and that something might not work.

Maybe you can advise the service of an elegant solution, like reinstall the Help and Support or reinstall the Help and Support service? .. or something else

You can give this a try.
If errors are found run at least 3 times

Since SFC didn't work and system restore is not an option, you might consider a repair install. All personal settings, programs, files, etc should remain unchanged.

Thanks for the help, it worked like magic

My Help and Support was not working after doing some automatic updates of Windows 7 Professional. I tried a system restore back to an earlier time according to one entry in this forum, that didn't work.

Well, I tried your Scannow trick to repair corrupted files and it worked like magic.

Thanks so much for your suggestion put here a while ago, it really helped.

I wish doing automatic windows updates wouldn't mess things up sometimes but at least now I know what to do to fix this when it happens again.
