    Boot issues - strange behaviour?

Perhaps someone can shed some light on this...
When I boot Win 7, if I let it go on it's own, it will hang at the "starting windows" screen forever - I've let it hang there for over an hour; however, if I hit enter soon after that screen comes up, it will continue and boot up. It seems as if pressing most any key will send it on it's way as I know I've hit the space bar and the F8 key also and it booted. I have a Gateway GT505058, 2GB, PS2 attached keyboard and have tried removing all USB attached devices, thinking it was encountering something it didn't like, but nothing worked except pressing a key soon after that "starting windows" screen came up.
Anyone have any experience like this or ideas about the why of it?
    Thanks.

    Hi John -

Try booting the Win7 DVD Repair console, click through to Recovery Tools list to run Startup Repair repeatedly to see if it finds issues to fix.

Post back a screenshot of your maximized full Disk Mgmt drive map, using Snipping Tool in Start menu. Tell us what is located on each partition.
