How to stop Windows User Screen from appearing

I am the sole user of a netbook and have no password to access my windows account (never used a computer with multiple accounts)

The Windows user screen pops up about every 10 minutes and I have to click on my profile pic in order to return to the screen I was viewing.

I have no screen saver set up so that I can stay connected without this happening BUT I have no idea how to stop Windows from putting up this black screen every few minutes.

Please tell me how to make it stop.

    Many thanks.

The 'black screen' is likely your display shutting off to save battery power. In your screen saver set up, check to see that 'On resume, display logon screen' is unchecked, as below:

Also, right click the batter meter on the notification area (bottom right) and select customize (or similar) and click 'Choose when to turn off the display'. You can set how long or if you wish the display to turn off at all :)

       Note
I realise you're using a netbook but i've known people to disable the switching off of their monitor regardless of power usage

Thankyou both. I was so busy looking at the Windows User controls I didn't go for the basics. I know better but thanks for the excellent and timely help.
    This was a big irritant.
