    User Access Control

I have a web application which installs the few activex controls required for the application. When ever i open the URL the UAC dialog pops up asking to install those activex controls. If i say 'Yes' it will install and will be able to see the application working fine. But the next time if i close it and open again the UAC dialog pops up again. The activex control is already installed in the system then why this UAC dialog pops up each time i open the application? Please can any one help me in this regard?

If i turn it off completely then it will download all the un necessary activex controls. But my question here is once you click yes on the UAC dialog and download the activex controls into the system then why it asks every time you open the application even though the activex controls are there in the system already.

Which web application are you talking about? Are you running it sandboxed?

The web application is what we have developed which will download the activex control from the third party known site and which is necessary for the application to run. Its not sand boxed i guess.

Have you tried running the app by clicking 'Run as Administrator' from the file's context menu?
Also make sure that no any virtual system program like Returnil are running in the background.. That may be causing to drop the changes made..

This will sort of exempt the program from the UAC prompt. Hope this helps.

Each time you click the URL, is UAC asking your permission to install Activex, or is it asking you for permission to run Activex? Keep an eye on the wording closely. Once Activex is installed, I would guess that UAC is now asking permission to run it.
