Random Q about Empty Drive things

    Hey guys,
So I'm looking at My Computer and there are these hidden removable drives/disks (lettered F through I) which are completely empty. So Far, I'm pretty sure it's because I have these card slots (SD, etc.) and the slots are showing up as removable disks even though nothing's plugged into them.

Is there any way to get rid of them? It's just really annoying when I have a USB drive plugged in since I have to go to My Computer to see what the right drive letter is.

Sooo nothing really important, it just really bugs me. Thanks in advance!

Cant you just rename them - SD reader - CF reader etc?

You can choose the option to hide empty drives, but it sounds like you might have that set already. There's nothing else to do, unless you disconnect the card reader, and get an external one, that you plug in only when you need it.

I have an internal card reader that takes up four letters. I moved them to M,N,O,P so I wouldn't get them confused with my flash drives or any of my network drives.

    Hello Hqi,

You could use OPTION TWO in the tutorial below to rename them.

    Drive - Rename

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn
