Never Log Out Is there a way to configure Windows 7 to stay logged
in to the user account indefinitely? How? Thx, Gus | My System Specs |

Hi,
In what way do you mean? When you log into Windows 7 that's it. You're logged in untill such time that you choose to log out again.
Please give a scenario to explain your exact intention

With many updates you will encounter an automatic logg-off. That is unavoidable and required to configure the updates. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

RE: Never Log Out Yes, perhaps I wasnt clear. When Im logged in as a user, but the
system the system is idle for a time, it goes back to the login screen
where I have to click on the user icon and enter a password if set
to get back to the Windows desktop. Id like to stay logged in and
on the desktop. This is a home system and theres no security issue.
I am referring to Windows login, and not to the monitor feature to
go to energy saving mode, and not to system shutdown or reboot.

The option you're looking for is in the Screen Saver options Screen Saver Password Protection -Enable or Disable Note Right-click desktop -> 'Personalize' -> 'Screen Saver'
Just make sure that the 'On resume, display logon screen' is un-checked.

It's also worth noting that it doesn't technically log you out, it just asks for the current user password | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Desktop OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU AMD Sempron Dual Core Memory 3GB Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Screen Resolution 1024x768 Hard Drives 150GB Sata |

It's basically like locking the system when you walk away in a corproate environment, except it is done at a timed interval. It's a simple change in your screensaver settings. I have my home system set to turn off the display after 20 minutes, but that's it. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 CPU Intel Core i7-2600 Motherboard Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD3P-B3 Memory 12 GB Patriot Extreme DDR3-1333 Graphics Card Nvidia GTX 470 Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp 2209WA PSU OCZ ModStream 700W Case CoolerMaster HAF 912 Advanced Cooling CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus Hard Drives OCZ Agility3 240 GB, WD5001AALS, WD7501AALS All times are GMT -5.
