    Restoring Program File Types

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit on a recently purchased HP Presario CQ56. Today I downloaded the Amazon MP3 Installer. During the installation it asks whether some file types are to be changed. To cut a long story short, after downloading, the desktop icons for several programs had all changed to the iTunes icon. Clicking on the icon opened the iTunes player instead of the correct program. Looking at the programs folders and files, the Application files have been replaced by the iTunes player application.

I have tried System Restore but I get a message that it is unavailable. I have tried restoring Previous Versions of the files but there are no Previous Versions. Deleting the Amazon MP3 Installer from Downloads made no difference.

Is there a way I can restore the Applications with the correct files or must I uninstall the applications and reinstall them?

As Explorer is one of the affected applications, can I reinstall it over the incorrect version?

try this: Default File Type Associations - Restore

or you could try running the Amazon installer again. it should either let you change the default program, or let you uninstall, which should revert your settings back to the way they were.
