Search Tool help please! Hello everyone, I have a big problem, I have not the Search tool in the Star menu and libraries, just in IE. I have checked the tutorial here, I did everything I checked the box and it's ticked, I don't understand the reason which the Search tool is not working when I accept the changes and it starts to make the changes but at the end a message pops-up and says that some of the features did not change correctly I don't understand what's going on.

Hello rich thank you for your answer.
I got my Windows with an engineer who knows about computers systems, in others words it's supposed that he knows what he is doing, I don't have any idea of what he did, the only thing I know is that I have not all the features such as Search tool, screensavers WMC Gadget, those are the problems I've found so far, I don't know, I have installed Windows 7 a twice, the first time everything were excellent, 5 months later (today) after a hard disk change, the person reinstalled Windows 7 and I don't know what he did
I really need help. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. |

The first thing to find out from your friend is if he did a clean install. You may know, now, however. Did you have to reinstall your programs; Word, Office, games etc?
This is a very important fact that we must know to help. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

Could you explain me what is a clean intall? My native language is not English and I don't know if the term could be translated into Spanish as English, so it's a little dificcult to me to talk about computers in English, my apologies for that =(.
Now, let's ask the anothers questions.
The antivirus, Office, Windows Live, common programs, were installed by that person.
The anothers programs such as, Real Player and a Japanese word processor were installed by me.
Actually, I have installed 2 progams by me.the anothers the person did. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit. |

Let me ask this way, forget clean install.
I understand, now, you know little about what he did.
Let me ask this then.
If you go to the computer icon on the desktop and right click and then properties, in the lower right do you see an emblem that says genuine Microsoft. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS 420 OS Windows 7 Home Premium SP1, clean install, upgrade disc CPU Intel Core2 processsor Q8200(2.33Ghz 1333FSB) Quad Core Tech Motherboard Dell Memory 6 gb Graphics Card ATI Radeon 256MB HD3650 Sound Card Intergrated 7.1 Channel Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell SP2009W 20" Keyboard Dell USB Keyboard Mouse Dell Premium Optical USB Cooling Fan Hard Drives 640 GB Serial ATA Hard drive Internet Speed DSL 2.85 |

OK thats very good.
We can help you but we have to know if it is a clean install. I understand that you do not comprehend what that means.
There is a method of installing which is called an upgrade. This is not good and if this is how you installed, I think that this could be all or part of your problem.
I think that the only thing that I can do at this point is have you ask your friend. Ask him, "Did you do an upgrade install or a clean install". He will understand. If he says upgrade install, you tell him that you want a clean install. Your problems should be over.
Wish you the best of luck, my friend.
