Windows 7: W7 Glitch ? Screensaver / power settings / password

Hi there
not sure if this is a Glitch but symptoms are as follows


1) I've set screensaver with NO password

2) I've set Power settings to NOT put computer to sleep but to turn the screen off after 10 mins.


3) I find when I come back to the computer the screen is switched off -- fine but then I get the logon screen and have to re-enter my user name and password. -- Fine in an office but at home or in my Hotel I don't need to do this.

It seems that there IS a setting in the advanced power settings that you can uncheck -- Require a password on wakeup.

Now my English might be a bit strange but I assume that if the computer is not put to sleep then the wakeup setting shouldn't do anything. It appears however when the screen is switched off re-activating it again counts as "Computer Wake Up"

Clearing this box in the advanced power settings fixed the problem -- but seems strange to me.

Running Windows 7 Pro x-86 on a laptop.
