Lost things after changing permissions

I lost or Cant Use alot of things after changing the permissions of my C: drive, which currently has Windows 7 installed on it... i no longer have gadgets, windows media player, widows media center and there is no longer a search bar at the bottom of my start menu... (all i have noticed is missing/gone)

any help would be awesome

I would first try a system restore and if that doesn't work then a Repair Install should definitely work.

Hello PsychoMantiz,

By default the owner of the C: drive would be TrustedInstaller. You might see if restoring the owner back to it may help. If not, then I would recommend what Mr GRiM suggested.
