Insert Word doc in Windows Explorer ?

I want to insert a Word document into a folder that holds mainly pictures in Windows Explorer. In XP I would right click / new / and several options were available to open. How do I do this in Win 7, when I right click all it shows is "Folder". I'm always open to change but I have used Win Explorer for my work flow for a very long time.

Hi jstchilln, Unless I'm missing the point I can't see the problem. The image attached was taken in Win Expl. and right click on Word Doc produces a bundle of options including the one indicated which allows you to copy into anywhere you wish including a Folder in 'Pictures'.

I could be wrong, but I think he's saying he wants to insert a new Word document into the folder by right clicking, new document, Word document.

This might be a dumb question, but do you have Microsoft Office installed? And, if you do, did it come with the computer with just a trial license? If so, and it expired, it would remove that New context menu item.

Thanks for the reply but this is a bunch of BS. You take an option that has been a standard for years and now I have to go into the registry and make changes for it to be available??? Who designed this part of Win 7. Steve Jobs.

Yes, I do have MS office installed but it is a full version. I will check out your links further when I get home tonight. Thanks again FLiGi7

I'm not sure why those options have disappeared, to be honest, but I don't think it's something inherent in Windows 7 that would take them away. Those options are originally there, so it's just a matter of trying to figure out why they disappeared. Those links I provided are just a means of mitigating the problem until we can find out what caused it.
