Windows log on screen won't load just keeps flashing

Everytime I try to start my computer, it will get to the log on page and try to load the user name but then it will keep flashing from black to log on screen and will never load it. It will only load when in Safe mode so I can't do everything I wish to do.

I tried Startup repair and it seemed like it was fixing it but then it still did it.
Then I tried to repair it again but it found no problems this time.
I even did the Memory Check Test and still nothing.

I don't know what to do.
    Please Help.

Thanks! It detected a problem and now because I don't have a restore point to go back to and I can't make one in safe mode, I have to reinstall windows. At least my files are backed-up.

I know I'm resurrecting the dead here, but in order to save someone else some time, here you go:

I just finished repairing a Dell Studio XPS (Win 7 Home Premium) with this exact issue: flashing at Windows 7 login screen without being able to select a profile, but I could get into Safe Mode and navigate without any problems.

I could kick myself for not checking the Event Log sooner. The issue turned out to be some software that came bundled with the laptop: FastAccess Facial Recognition. I couldn't uninstall the software while in safe mode, so I did what a guy on Dell's support site recommended and moved a few of the DLLs to a new folder.

These are the files I moved:

    FAConsIfDLL.dll
    FACredProv.dll (the main offending file)
    FACredProv2.dll
    FAIEExtension.dll
    FAIESSODlg.dll
    FAPassSync.dll

After moving the files, I have no problems booting into Windows 7.

Like I said earlier - I hope this helps save someone else some time.
