Windows 7 freezes on Gmail Voice/Video chat

    Hello everybody,

I am having problems with my Asus G60J. About 3 days ago, I noticed that when I tried to start a Video chat over Gmail (with my built in web-cam), it locked up my computer instantly, and entirely. I have no other options than to do a hard reset. I had nothing other that Task manager open, and this happens repeatedly. I also happens when I receive chats. I have the latest drivers for my (time for the tech specs)

Nvidia Geforce GTS 360M Cuda with 1GB of Vram

    Intel i5

    Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

    4GB DDR3 Ram

Using windows 7 for 1 month and loving it. ANY help MUCH appreciated.

Note: this also happens with the Star Wars Battle Front 2 Installer.

Also, playing regular video files and music just fine.

Yeah, It sounds like the driver doesn't work well with windows, maybe you can try an older version.

Like it was working, I could do the SW BF2 install, and video chat. That was before a few days ago. Now it doesn't work. No change as far as I know. If this helps, I was having the popular Gadgets not displaying problem. The one were the clock shows just a static seconds hand. But it fixed itself at around the same time the lockup program started. Oh, and Malwarebytes doesn't find anything either.

What does the installer say when it fails?

Nothing. It does the same thing as Gmail Video chat. It just freezes instantly and eternally. Until I have no other options than to do a hard reboot

I'm at a loss here man, I'm sorry I can't be of much help. I would open a cmd prompt. Start>run>cmd and do a sfc /scannow . Also try a clean install and try again. Again I'm sorry.
