Hello... from a electronic music producer.

Yes, once more I would like to post a warm thanks for all the help whilst I was not registered. I was reading frantically all the helps and hints from the many established forum members on how to get rid off all the bloatware and so forth and tweak my new machine for studio and live performance use.

I'm a professional electronic music producer and DJ. I just purchased an ASUS so to be honest I'm not that savvy when it comes to tweaking Windows 7.

I moved over from a very trusty XP machine, I needed to upgrade the laptop as new DJ software was punishing the old machine a little. The old XP machine is still running very well... nearly 6 years on and no worries. I think it has crashed probably 8 or 9 times in all those years.

My laptops NEVER go on the internet, so I guess that's why I have not had many problems.

I'm thinking about taking the plunge into getting rid off the Internal drive and getting a SSD.

If I need help I will post in the relevant treads.

Just arrived! But have been scouring the forum for answers to many questions for a while now

Used to older windows and more recently XP, managed to master Vista settings just about to get it easier to use, but now a little flumaxed at times with 7 with some of its quirks. Spend more time in Linux (embedded). I can see how some changes are good, but getting round them has been a headache (will start a new thread in General if there is nothing I can find recently on one subject). Getting there, but having to think a little differently (old dog finding it tricky learning new things). So may be a few 'daft' questions!

Appreciate all the help that I have found so far! Now its time to join in
