    user accounts


    ok i enabled administrator account i followed the prompt on how to disable it by going to start and typing in i think regetit or something like that lol.... but anyway i set the value to 1 and it got rid of my administrator account but it has taken my picture and user account and password from my other account i continuelly have to type it in can anyone help? did i hit a wrong number or what?

    The correct way to enable the hidden Adminsitrator is to open an elevated Command Prompt to run net user administrator /active:yes or :no to disable it. I do not suggest you run under hidden Administrator.

    You can make changes to the picture or password in your current User account in the Control Panel>User Accounts.

    Let us know if there are any other issues, and never edit your Registry without first setting a Restore point as this is otherwise a Windows 7 suicide attempt.

    I would go a little further than Greg and say do a system restore NOW to a point before you edited the Registry to be on the safe side especially as you don't seem too sure what you might have edited! Whatever you do don't be tempted to use a Registry Cleaner at this stage. That could do more harm than good. You don't nee it with Windows 7 anyway!
