    Assigning "Sleep" key.....

    Does anuone know how to assign the sleep function to a key on the keyboard. I had it on my old HP keyboard...but I just built my self a new pc...and I can't seem to be able to figure it out....I downloaded MS Intellitype Pro 8.0...but it does not show any SLEEP feature....

    AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
    ASUS M4A88TD-M/USB3
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit
    Microsoft Digital Media 3000 Keyboard

    There was a discussion in Jan 2009 "General Discussion", but I don't quite understand it. Can anyone help?? Thanks

    In the shortcut, It should allow you to choose a "hotkey" or key combo to use this... However, I've never had someone request for the OS to sleep... We generally fix the sleep issues by setting the os NOT to sleep.

    Code:
    • Right Click in the desired location (On the Desktop or in a folder)
    • Select New -> Shortcut
    • In the “Type the location of the item” field enter the following
    • Rundll32.exe Powrprof.dll,SetSuspendState Sleep
    • Click Next
    • This will create a shortcut with the name rundll32,
    • Right Click the shortcut, select Rename and type in Sleep

    shortcut is visual representation of another file/folder or command. It will put a file on your desktop (or wherever you want it)... then you should have the ability to assign a hotkey or combo key command to run said command.
