Windows 7: 7100 vs 7229

7100 vs 7229

I have installed the Windows 7 Release Candidate (Build 7100)less than a month ago(I think). With all the hear about the hash build number over 100 greater than the version I am currently using, I am wondering if there are any changes worth upgrading for. Replying would help, as it sounds very tempting to install.

I think it is always worth upgrading. There is a noticeable improvement in your WEI from 7100 to 7229. There are also more up to date drivers included with 7229 along with some bug fixes as well. I would say give it a shot, but just make sure to backup your old stuff if it doesn't work out for you, there is always that chance since it is not RTM yet.

7201 has been very solid for me. Having installed all of the previous leaks, I'm a little bored with the constant re-installs. There won't be many obvious changes between 7201 and RTM.

I noticed two new things in 7231 :
1. When you get uac messages, there is an extra part of the window now that asks if you want to change the settings
2. The WMP and IE first run windows look different

I have 2 computers
MY PERSONAL COMPUTER: windows 7 7201 x64 (clean install)
MY HOME COMPUTER: windows 7 7100 x86. (clean install)

Its a good choice, upgrade 7100 x86 to 7229x86, without a clean install?
Im dont have time to backup again, again, again.
