Help Reboot window 7 acer PC

When newegg had a good deal or w/e site my friend got it on, I bought myself a acer computer it was the time when acer had an available upgrade for window 7, I say this computer that I'm using is somewhat built, we just upgraded a few things and i am using a radeon video card. Well, my problem is?..How do I reboot my computer with this window 7 acer; I cant figure a way to reboot this computer. Its still brand new, I'd say about a year or less old. I didn't really download much so I don't care what happens to my files that are inside this computer.

When I insert window 7 media(I think its the reboot disc) the other disc is Acer upgrade DVD(upgrade wizard). The window 7 media that I just inserted was finished, my friend told me to insert it and let it finished; but I don't see no Reboot options.

It also says, I have to unistall the ATI programs.

In need of help to reboot, and willing to guide me step by step or just tell me what I have to do.(I am confused)

Okay, let's work on terminology first. You are looking to "recover" your system, not "reboot" it. Reboot is simply turning it off and back on.

The computer would have either come with a recovery disk(s), OR it would have had a way for you to make recovery disk(s) from inside Windows, OR it may have a recovery option that requires you to press a function key when you turn the computer on (before Windows starts). One of the last two options is the most likely. If all you have is an actual Microsoft Windows 7 disk, your task will be harder since you will be doing a clean install of Windows, and you may need to go to Acer's website to complete the installation by downloading drivers for your particular hardware.

Yeah well, as in like: example: I got a virus and I want to be able to start off fresh where I recently got the computer and upgraded to window 7. I thought Reboot was like, Deleting drivers so when you turn it on after a reboot everything is gone, so you need to re download everything.

but yeah I do have window 7 acer

I'm not an intelligence computer person, but I can follow with a guidance.

We have two Acer desktops here that came with the Win7 Upgrade kit.

The DVD is the full Win7 installation DVD with nothing added. The other disk is a drivers and programs disk for you to choose from. You shouldn't need any drivers since the Win7 DVD is driver-complete, with newer arriving quickly via optional Windows Updates. Any drivers then missing in Device Manager can be found on the Acer Support Downloads webpage for your model.

So in the scenario you pose with a virus attack, you'd want to back up your data to quarantine on DVD, external or flash stick, where it can be thoroughly scanned by AV and Malwarebytes. http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Next wipe your HD before reinstall to overwrite any infected or corrupt code. This is because deleting or formatting doesn't erase anything since you can't actually erase data off of a Hard Drive, only overwrite it with all zeroes which is what wiping does. Boot the Win7 DVD, press Shift+F10 at first screen to open a Command line and type the Diskpart Commands given in this tutorial to wipe the HD: SSD / HDD : Optimize for Windows Reinstallation
    How to boot from CD/DVD

Next boot the Win7 DVD, select Custom Install, then use Drive Options (Advanced) to create and format your install partition before installing Win7. The steps are all shown here: Clean Install Windows 7

Some other tips to get a perfect install:

Install updates and then programs slowly over time to gauge performance after each. Don't let any programs write themselves into your Startup list as they become freeloaders on RAM/CPU and can spy on you. I only allow AV and gadgets. Startup Programs - Change

Use a lightweight free Anti-Virus like MS Security Essentials which works perfectly with Windows 7 Firewall. http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

When it is finished, clean and order the HD perfectly using state-of-the-art free CCleaner then Auslogics Disk and Registry defraggers monthly.

Auslogics Disk Defrag - Reviews and free Auslogics Disk Defrag downloads at Download.com

Then save a Windows 7 Backup image externally so you never have to reinstall again, just reimage the HD or replacement using DVD.

Read over these steps then post back as many questions as you need answered.

    diskpart> clean all

    Virtual disk service error:
clean is not allowed on the disk containing the current boot, system, pagefile, crashdump or hibernation volume

You'll need to boot the Win7 DVD, at first screen press Shift + F10 to open a Command Line, type:
    DISKPART
    LIST DISK
SELECT DISK # (replace # with the disk # for your Win7 hard drive)
CLEAN ALL (takes about an hour per 320gb)
    EXIT

If Shift + F10 does not open Command Box, then select Repair My Computer on second screen, select Recovery Tools list, then Command Line.

You cannot run Diskpart clean all from Win7 Command Line.

Will check back by 11 am EST, then 8 pm for longer.

You want the disk which says Windows 7 Installation DVD, not the Drivers and Apps CD. It should have the Product Key on its envelope.

Put it in the drawer, reboot, then press any key when prompted so that it boots to load files, at first screen press Shift + F10 to Open Command line. Or on second screen select Repair My Computer, then click through to Recovery Tools to open a Command Line.

If you are not prompted to "Press any key to boot DVD" then reboot, repeatedly tap F12 to get the Acer one-time Boot menu, choose DVD drive to boot the DVD.
