Windows 7: File Properties or running the program takes long time

File Properties or running the program takes long time

A certain set of programs take over a minute to run. If I double click the executable it takes over a minute before the program launches.

Equally attempting to access the file properties takes a similar amount of time.

(the file happens to be audioconverter.exe (part of a set of programs to re-encode mkv's - e.g. strip out of the dts track and reencode with ac3, etc.)

Only files in this set of sub-directories seem to be affected, the rest of the machine performs perfectly.

Any ideas?

What's the name of the program exactly? if the rest of the installed ones are not giving you any kinds of trouble, that could be a hint..

File name is AudioConverter.exe, it's part of the MKVtoolnix suite.

Originally I extracted all the files under the Program Files (x86) directory and thinkg it might be a security issue I copied them to my download folder to run from there.

Could it be a security / file privileges issue?
