Windows 7 - Windows 7 Screen/Graphics Error

I recently started up my computer and a weird screen error appeared. Ill try my best to explain it. The screen is split up into 4 sections and its kinda blurry. Its almost like permanent safe mode. Any ideas?

As they screen is split up into 4 sections, its impossible to do anything.

Yes, exactly that. Should have explained it better.

Right click on the desktop and select screen resolution and see how many monitors are enabled.

I cant, it wont let me select anything or I cannot see what im doing.

Is it actually 4 desktops with taskbars or just your wallpaper tiled. If your selected wallpaper file is a very low resolution, and your monitor a very high resolution, switching from stretched to tiled will cause something like what you describe to happen. You'll be able to tell because you will only have one taskbar, but your wallpaper will repeat in a checker board pattern.

I dont think its the wallpaper as it is split into four sections when I turn on the computer (bios) and stays like it.

If it is from before BIOS it is likely a graphics card error. Do you have another monitor you can try, or another cable to rule out those two?
