Welcome to SF Steve from AU,
Can you give us some spec's on your system. I for one don't like the sleep mode in any way shape or form. Do you know the screen saver and sleep mode settings you have in place? Steve:
Welcome to SF!
This shouldn't make any difference, but...
What key are you hitting?
Try the <space> bar, or <cursor> key, rather than the <return> key, for example...
What are your BIOS wake-up settings?
What are your Windows 7 wake-up settings?
These are all easily over-looked 'small' things that can make a difference in the way your computer responds. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number OEM - Me OS Windows 7 Home Premium x64 CPU AMD Phenom II X6 1600T Motherboard GigaByte GZ-990FXA-UD3 Memory 16GB PC3-10700 (1342MHz) Graphics Card ATI Radeon 5770 HD (x2) CrossFire Sound Card On-board RealTek chipset Monitor(s) Displays 3x Hanns-G 1920x1080 Monitors Screen Resolution 3x Hanns-G 1920x1080 Monitors Keyboard HP USB Mouse LogiTech USB PSU OCZ Stealth X Stream 750W Case Cheap (unknown) Cooling Stock Hard Drives Intel 25-V SSD 40GB: 218 MB/s AT: 0.1ms

Hi! Steve, welcome to 7F My name is Steve also...........
Try, right click on Start Orb \ Left or right click on properties \ Click on "Use default properties" \ Click OK
You might have a setting there that's causing this. Slowly add items back to rebuild your Start menu customizations, if it starts acting up again, you'll know the culprit. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway DX4831e (Mid-Tower Desktop) OS Win 7 Home Premium 64bit Ver 6.1.7600 Build 7601 - SP1 CPU Intel i3 530 2.93GHz, 2933MHz 2 Cores 4 Logical Processors Motherboard Gateway H57M01 133 megahertz Memory 6GB of 1,333MHz DDR3 SDRAM Graphics Card 32MB Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD IGChip Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Gateway HX2000 20inch TFT active matrix TN Screen Resolution 1600 x 900 x 59 hertz Keyboard MS 'Natural' Standard PS/2 Enhanced 101-102 Key Mouse Gateway USB wired optical PSU 300watts.
