5 problems with win 7 any help please.

    hello.
i have found 5 problems with (win 7) maybe someone here can help with.
before starting all my drivers are up to date and work fine with vista.

1.i tryed the last 4 builds and can't seem to get the (new boot screen) to work. it's no big deal i just wanted to see it.
    2. when i installed (HOMEPREMIUM) it all works till i install my ati drivers.
i use the installer and reboot but after the reboot i get a error message
saying something like no ati drivers found please install drivers. so i go
to update drivers and show the path where the drivers are and i says the
best drivers are already installed. (the drivers i'm using work fine in ULTIMATE).
3.i tryed upgrading from the last build to build 7000. when i was done my memory was hitting 97%. so i did a clean install and it works fine now.
4.if i use my ( western digital usb harddrive ) my logitect cordless keyboard starts to hang and skips some of the letters being typed. if i remove or turn off the harddrive the keyboard works fine again.
5.when trying to install ( Nero any version) i get ( file is corrupt )
error, tryed compatbility mode with no help.also tryed redownloading it
from there web site and installing it and the same thing happens. i tryed a older version and again the samething happens.
    thanks scrooge

I dunno what nero features u use but u can try Nero Lite installer, it does install all basic nero burning features (it's actually nero, just repacked with basic features only). Just search in google for "nero lite", first link.

    bye

    Hi Scrooge,

Have you installed using compatibility mode?

Right click on the installer, and in the compatibility mode dialog choose Vista RTM, it's also worth selecting run as Administrator.

as for the USB device conflicts Try connecting to different USB controllers ( a modern motherboard will normally have more that 1 with ports on each) as It may be the drive is drawing too much power causing the KB to fail ( also check the KB batteries )

For number 2 are you using the ATI Win7 Preview Drivers or one of the Vista drivers. Either one works, but you're probably better off using the Win7 ones.

Also, why are you using Home Premium? Why not use Ultimate, especially if the drivers work there? I mean to each there own, but I'm just curious.

And looks like you resolved 3 on your own, but yes, clean install at this point is the way to go, I've read very limited success stories so far with upgrading, especially if you're switching between versions (Home/Premium/Ultimate/etc).

i just wanted to try Home Premium to see what it's like . and i tryed everything to get the nero working tryed compatibility mode and run as Administrator .it just don't want to work with win 7. also already tryed changing the port for the harddrive and still don't work. funny thing is it all works with vista. as for the ati drivers i tryed both .i also let windows update use the one thay have .

thanks for all the help scrooge

It may have to do with the fact that W7 has native CD/DVD burning capabilities, and that might be conflicting with Nero.
