Crash Dump when trying to Partition

Okay, first I apologize to the mods if this is in the wrong section and sorry to everyone for not searching first. You know how you get frustrated when trying to do something you don't understand and then it doesn't work? Yea, that's me at the moment.

So I'm trying to create another partition so I can run Windows 7 or XP, am following a tutorial on YouTube showing how to do this and everything is working great until I click finish on the New Simple Volume Wizard. Then the pop-up appears, warning that clicking Yes will change the basic volume to some other volume (dynamic I believe) and that I would not be able to start other operating systems from it. I click Yes anyway.

Now Disk C is labeled Crash Dump when it was previously labeled as a Primary Partition. And the header bar by Disk 0 is now green rather than blue (I think it was blue).

New Volume (F:) is the new volume I created.

I tried system restore but this computer has only been running for an hour and we have not created any restore points yet.

Any suggestions? Am I actually on the right track? Am I screwed? If so what should I do?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

You can only put four partitions on the disk that is why you can't make a fifth.

You need to post a Snip where all the info for the drives is visible.
Words are missing for C. HP can't be read except Healty though it is probably Recovery and Tools.

You need to change the Disk back to Basic instead of Dynamic.
I'll get you some links to tutorials. Maybe you'll save it.

Ooohhhhh! So would it be alright to delete one of the other partitions? There is nothing on them (that I know of) to worry about deleting, this computer is directly out of the box.

    Thanks for the fast reply!

    No not yet.

Did you make your recovery disks? Probably not since it just came out of the box.
Without recovery Disks how were you planning on reinstallling Windows if necessary at a future time?

Read and follow these tutorials. Ask questions if necessary but they are easy to use.

    First remove the (F) partition.
    Partition or Volume - Delete

Second this will extend the (C) to move the old F back into C. So it is like it was when you brought it home. Four partitions.
    Partition or Volume - Extend

Third make your Dynamic disk back to Basic
Convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk

The above will get you back to where you started but usable.

Then get the book out and make your recovery disks. Will take 3-4 DVD's. Read manual.

Then come back and we will see about doing what you want to achieve.

Here is a better snip for you, and yes I do have recovery disks - Future Shop made them for me when I purchased the computer.

EDIT I just saw your edit, I will follow those tutorials and then get back to you. Thank you very much!

    Recovery disks okay!!

Sorry I forgot it didn't automatically put it back in (C).

Then we will work on getting space for other things. Post new Snip when all finished of four Basic partions.
