There is something to definitely be said about the temps. I just have a sneaking suspicion there's a layout issue. He has 5 HDD each dumping 85* with no front intake. I'd like to see where the motherboard and video card is in relation to the side fans and the exhaust. It's possible the CPU is just being choked of fresh air.

    VentilationRear: 120mm Fan x 1(Exhaust) (Included)
Top: 80mm Blue LED Fan x 1(Exhaust) (Included)
Side: 80mm Blue LED Fan x 2 (Intake) (Included)
Front: 120mm Fan x 1 (Intake) (Not Included)
    case...

Actually, I bought a separate 120mm fan. I made sure every available slot on the case had a fan in it. I believe there's none left. I'll post screenshots afterwards.

Here's after shutting down my computer for 8 hours + pushing the "Default settings" in the BIOS.

This is also with the updated CPUID's Hardware Monitor.

That's more like it. Now, the important part, what are load temps? It's rough work, but somebody's gotta do it, so now you're tasked with gaming... for an hour! Post back temps.

Here it is. Mind you, EVE isn't a heavy system requirements game. A lot of the colors in it are black, which I think is easier to render, not sure.

Here's the screenshot while gaming for an hour.

You're good. Seems like the only problem was a bad copy of Hardware Monitor.

Not Quite Fumz. I have to press the clr_cmos on my motherboard, otherwise my computer runs at an OC'd speed. I haven't got a clue on how to fix it. It's been frustrating me for the longest time. The first screenshot is when I didn't press the clr_cmos button, and the final one I posted with EVE running is when i did press it. So you can see their is a HUGE difference.

    I have ASUS board also.

Get the motherboard manual out or go to Asus support and download it.

In the manual find the section about overclocking in BIOS. It will show where to OC in BIOS and also how to go back to stock setttings.

You should have one of these if not both in Bios. Either will work.
    1) Ai Tweaker menu> CPU level up on mine is one way. Has four settings- set to AUTO. Which is default.
    2) Ai Overclock Tuner> Auto resets to Default as above does.

    Mike

Snip of your manual below. What the Bios should look like.
CPU Level UP set to AUTO

You also have AI Overclock Tuner. Second Snip form your manual set it to Auto.

If you're overheating, it isn't because your bios is pumping too many volts to the core. 1.3 volts is within the normal range for your chip given Speed Step. If you haven't overclocked yourself, it's hard to see how that could just up and happen all on its own?

Did you install the Asus overclocking tool off the cd? If you did, just uninstall it... you really don't need it, and if you do plan on overclocking (after you get a real heatsink), you'll do it in the bios anyway... so ditch that bundled pos.

Go download cpu-z: CPUID - System & hardware benchmark, monitoring, reporting

Boot up, do not clear cmos, do exactly what you'd do when you think the board is clocked, then run cpuz and give us a screenshot. That will definitively tell you whether there's any overclocking going on or not. To get past speed spep, run a game while it's open.

    VID Voltage Range
    0.8500v-1.3625v
    Looks OC'ed to me.

It should be about 0.85v idle without OC.

I'm not quite sure how you're arriving at that conclusion? 0.85-1.3625 is stock voltage for his cpu. You can't tell just by this whether it's overclocked or not. Intel® Core

Let's not conflate speedstep and overclocking.
