    Hello Gilly,

Running a Startup Repair with your Windows 7 installation DVD may be able to fix this for you.

    Hope this helps,

No, it will do nothing but try to repair your boot file for Windows 7. As from the link in step one of the tutorial, you will just need to boot from your Windows 7 installation DVD and select Repair Computer to then enter the menu to select Startup Repair.

Ok. We can go to the next level then and do a repair install. You will not lose anything with this as well.

Just out of curiosity, have you installed/run any sort of watermark remover? The vista boot screen bug is typical of any watermark removal software.

You could try from command prompt (type cmd in the start menu, then right-click and select 'run as administrator') running sfc /scannow this will search any system files that do not match the initial integrity check & repair/replace any damaged/changed/corrupt files.

    Hope this also helps :)
