Professional's "XP" mode vs Premium's "compatability"

Quick question:
Is Win 7 Professional's "XP" mode any different than Win 7 Premium's "Compatability" mode?

Yes. Compatibility Mode is incorperated in all aspects of Windows 7

Compatibility Mode

XP Mode has to be downloaded and can ONLY be used on Windows 7 Proffesional & Ultimate.

Yes. XP mode is actually a virtual machine. Compat mode is windows way of playing nicely with older software.
