GRUB can corrupt Windows 7 and make it unbootable and irreparable when on the same HD.

The best arrangement for Linux distros is to place them on separate HD and boot via BIOS boot order or one-time BIOS Boot menu without GRUB or Windows-managed Dual Boot.

Try running Startup Repair from the DVD Repair console or Repair CD. All of the necessary tests and fixes are automated in Startup Repair, which sometimes runs best from DVD/CD.

can you boot into Ubuntu or Windows XP? I would boot into XP and ran chkdsk x: /r. Replace x: with your windows 7 partition.
