Windows 7: Home Basic uses less ram than ultimate?

Home Basic uses less ram than ultimate?

Is it true HomeBasic uses like 200mb and Ultimate like 500 mb?



I have only 1gb of ram but I don't want to go back to XP

There is a difference but Ultimate will run under 1 gig I did just that for 5 months. The amount of ram usage depends on what services you run in both but I suspect the difference is maybe 100 Mb if that.

Update you ram by adding more. Using home basic is no different then using XP. Ram is fairly cheap now days.

No, it is not true. Home Basic would actually be worse because it does not have Aero.
