Professional's "XP" mode vs Premium's "compatability"

    Quick question:
Is Win 7 Professional's "XP" mode any different than Win 7 Premium's "Compatability" mode?

Yes. Compatibility Mode is incorperated in all aspects of Windows 7

    Compatibility Mode

XP Mode has to be downloaded and can ONLY be used on Windows 7 Proffesional & Ultimate.

Hmmm... So then, is there a "functional" difference between the two?

Yes. XP mode is actually a virtual machine. Compat mode is windows way of playing nicely with older software.

They are completely different. There really is nothing to compare between the two.

Indeed, MacGyvr, but, still, James made an accurate comparison, no?

    Thanks, James. :)
