| Windows 7: Annoying explorer behavior |

Annoying explorer behavior I have been using Windows 7 build 7000 for about 6 months. Generally very happy and stable. One rant, however: In windows file explorer, when I click on a folder, the whole file tree jumps around in a bizarre and distracting way. I have to hunt around for my folder before I proceed. Am I missing something here? I've looked at all the ckeck boxes in the file explorer settings- nothing really seems to make a difference.
Anyone else have this problem?
Thanks. | My System Specs |

Finally Hi, finally somebody expieriencing the same as me, it drives me crazy!
Why in the wolrd would i want the explorer to put the folder that i just expanded right at the bottom of the window???
Hope somebody has a solution for this?
@Peter
I now use the right part of the explorer, where normally the files are displayed, for navigation, but am not happy about it...

Greetings Open explorer in the top left corner click on "Organize" then in the list click on "Folder and search options". The folder options window will pop open , on the general tab near the bottom deselect "Automatically expand to current folder" then click "Apply" and "Ok". | My System Specs

Hey YupYup, thx for the fast reply!
This works, but i like automatically expanding folders
I would like to have just the exact same behaviour as in Vista
Guess i have to deal with it..
BTW, another workaround is to click the tiny triangels left of the folders instead of doubleclick. | My System Specs

Agreed Yes, I agree with you on this point. The "deselect auto expand" option does not really address the annoying behavior. I would prefer an option to have folders behave as in XP.
Thanks,
Peter
BTW, I just "upgraded" to the RC 7100 build via the much published workaround, and it worked flawlessly. I used UltraISO to make and save the changes to the iso file. Very nice software, but requires $30 purchase. | My System Specs

Anytime you expand a folder in the navigation (left) pane, XP makes that folder the topmost folder of the navigation pane, and you can see all the subfolders beneath it. In Win 7, often the expanded folder is placed at the bottom of the pane, making you have to scroll so you can see the subfolders. A total PITP. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom workstation /// Lenovo X61t tablet notebook OS Windows 7 RTM x64 CPU Core i7 980X @ 4.04GHz OC /// Core Duo L7500 @ 1.6GHz Motherboard Asus P6T6 WS Revolution /// Memory 12GB G.
