SourceSinofsky, the former head of the Office project, is implementing the same development strategy with Windows as with the Office System. Smaller incremental releases separate by smaller periods of time (just two years for Office). In this context, Windows 7 could very well be nothing more than a pit stop to Windows 8. Delivered just three years after Vista, Windows 7 will only serve to prepare the fertile soil for Windows 8. And in this regard, Windows 8 will bring on the true Windows evolution, with Windows 7 being somewhat of a more modest release. Still, at this point, it is all nothing more than speculation, especially with the Redmond company completely mute on the subject.
This is just 1 source, just BING 'Windows 8 Midori'
NoteMidori is not going to be the codename of Windows 8, but it is now (probably) well under way

OMG, why talk about Windows 8 when Windows 7 isn't RTM'ed yet. -_-
And your information is fake, there isn't a Windows 8 build with build number 7234. I don't think they have started compiling Windows 8 builds!
Please think before you post!!
Haha lets get the windows 7 fever out of the way first before 8 mania starts
midori is not windows 8.
but its non windows OS from M$
why is everybody astonished ? the build of win seven has started aprox. a half year before vista RTM.
So the question should be: why so late this time
OK, the build-numbering is wrong, because the complete 7xxx builds are reserved for win seven (and sp1, sp2. sp3 .... ), MS might start the builds with 8xxx (its just a guess, don't blame me )
and midori has nothing to do with windows, even some technologies will find their way into win8 as they had already in win 7.
